New Moon

I must say I've held out for a really long time on jumping on the Twilight bandwagon. Not that I wasn't interested in reading the books, or seeing the movies after I've read them, but it just wasn't time for me to get into them until now. I really probably would have sat on reading them for awhile yet actually, but the movies were starting to get into the last books and I didn't want to see something in a preview to ruin the experience of the book.

So here I am, after anxiously waiting for a copy to become available through the library (I was in position 12 on the queue, though that's nothing compared to the 30ish, which is now down to the teens, for Breaking Dawn). And now! Yay! A copy of New Moon came in today and I get to sit and read it and I am very excited. I can't wait to see where the characters go from Twilight.

If anyone needs me I will be lounging all comfy on my couch in a paranormal romancey stupor of yum.

Anne Stuart Review

I very recently came across Anne Stuart and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I stumbled upon her first foray into a book series and it was quite enjoyable. The books included in the series so far are:

I missed Ice Storm, but have read the others and enjoyed them. The heroes were a little cookie cutter when it came to emotions and showing them, but the characters were still interesting. They were a nice blend of spy thriller and romance. They could have very easily fallen into the same repetition from one book to the next, but luckily that wasn't the case for me.  I look forward to adding them to my bookcase and finding more of the authors works.

Barnes and Noble is currently having a summer warehouse clearance. You can get some great reads for as little as $1.99. There's Once A Month Cooking and other cookbooks, some fabulous kids books including a ton of Halloween themed ones since that is right around the corner, and a ton of great authors like Susan Elizabeth Philips (one of my all time favorites).

Back in the Saddle

We're back from vacation and the craziness that was July. I'm looking forward to delving back into blogging!

It's back to school time, and thankfully for my poor emotional self my young one won't have to worry about that until next year. However, we have been taking advantage of the wonderful back to school sales with crayons and paper and clothes. If you're in TN be sure to get all your shopping done by today so you can take advantage of the tax free holiday!
